Our Family became blended in January 2012. My husband Ted brought 2 boys (12 and 9 at the time) into our new family and I brought a daughter (4 at the time). As you can imagine, setting expectations for various ages and doing so as a step mom was difficult.
I needed a tool that would motivate kids to respect our family values and expectations and also encourage them to help out around the house a little more... cause let's face it, (step)mommy was spent!
After launching our paper version of Hire and Fire your Kids we were amazed by the results! We couldn’t believe how it helped and made an immediate impact on our household. The kids were engaged, having fun, self-aware and actively participating as a household member. HFK became more like a Game in our home than a “program”.

Because we care and love our Kids. We want them to be successful, well rounded people able to function in the world. We are their parent, teacher and coach - not just their buddy. It is our job as parents to teach them how to contribute and be more responsible. Starting in the household by having them be an active team member is a great way to achieve this.
Vision: To help parents raise their Kids to be more responsible, independent and to provide some sanity to the home along the way.
Our Family Values: To raise our Kids to be kind, caring, confident, compassionate, polite, loving, positive, respectful, responsible, helpful, honest, grateful, accepting, successful and independent people who never intentionally hurt others or themselves.
What are your Family Values?
To teach Kids what the household expectations, chores, hygiene and manners are. Motivate the Kids to follow them with recognition, reward and discipline. Enabling the Kids to learn the value of a dollar and be able to take care of themselves and/or others when out on their own in the “real world”.
Meet Our Team
Hire and Fire your Kids would not be where it is today without the ideas and support from our team and "test" families.
Jody loved turtle necks and Farrah Fawcett hair. She wanted to be an actress when she grew up. Life had other plans and she spent most of her career in retail but now she's making her entrepreneurial debut building the Hire and Fire empire!
Ted's always been a cutie patootie, as you can see. He always wanted to be a dad and have a big family. He not only accomplished that but established a very successful career in the banking industry.
Sister, Director & Designer
Lisa's a 70's child at heart, born the last year of that decade. She is cool and free, loves design and being with people.
